Feeling lots of anxiety over getting financing for a home purchase? You don't have to be.
I have excellent relationships with a lot of lending companies in the Madera area, and they've helped me realize some things that can make the loan application process easy.
1 – Put together a list of questions about your loan program
Be sure to have a list of questions with you if you don't thoroughly grasp the pros and cons of the various programs.
It can be a challenge understanding the differences between fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. I or one of my trusted lenders can assist you in understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each one.
2 – Determine when you want to lock
When you lock in the interest rate, it means that a mortgage lender holds to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – commonly at the time the loan application is submitted.
By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between the loan application day and at the time of closing. Those who opt to float presume that the interest rates will drop in the near future. Click here to see the outlook for the next 90 days of interest rates.
3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to reduce your rate
When you decide to pay additional points to lower the interest rate of your loan, you'll do so by paying for them in cash at the time of closing. Each point is 1 percent of the loan.

4 – Gather your paperwork
Obtaining a loan requires lots of paperwork, so you should take some time to get your documentation together. Click here to see normal information that goes on a loan application.
